In February, Ukraine will receive 117,000 doses of American-made Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine under the COVAX program. This was announced on Saturday by Viktor Lyashko, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine.
According to Lyashko, who is also the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine, in the first half of 2021, from 2.2 million to 3.7 million doses of the AstraZeneca / Oxford vaccine will be delivered to the country. Lyashko emphasized that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine produced in the USA will be immediately used to vaccinate healthcare workers who provide care for patients with COVID-19..
«In parallel, during the first half of the year, starting in February, we will be able to receive between 2.2 and 3.7 million doses of AstraZeneca / Oxford vaccine for the next phases of the campaign. And this is only within the framework of the COVAX mechanism», – Lyashko wrote on his Facebook.
